Pakistan to send strong squad for Under-17 Asia Cup Cricket |

Dhaka--(UNB) - Pakistan has announced a strong squad for the second Under-17 Asia Cup Cricket Tournament beginning here in the second week of this month. Salman Butt, who has been called at the Pakistan national camp for the forthcoming New Zealand tour, named captain of the squad. The 18-member Pakistan team, one of the giant title contenders of the tournament, will arrive in the city on February 14. Pakistan team: Salman Butt, Khalid Latif, Mohammad Altaf, Kashif Ijaz, Salman Qadir, Javed Hussain, Mohammad Naeem, Adnan Akmal, Syed Azam Hussain, Mohammad Azhar Ali, Agha Tahir, Junaid Bin Tauqir Zia, Syed Najaf Hussain Shah and Nadeem Javed. Officials: Sajjad Nabi Malik (manager), Shoaib Mohammad (coach), Sohail Saleem (physio) and Sultan Rana (selector). Meanwhile, the host team is likely to be announced on February 11 or 12, and promising opener Nafis Iqbal is expected to lead the Bangladesh team, said event manager and BCB Joint-secretary Mahmudul Haq Manu. |
